Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Hushlea ("we," "us" or "our") runs this store and website, along with the information, content, features, tools, products and services that come with it (together, the "Services"). Our storefront and checkout run on Shopify, the platform that hosts the Services, together with the payment providers that process payments. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and when we share it, whether you browse the site, place an order or another transaction, or get in touch with us. If this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service ever disagree about how personal information is collected, processed or shared, this Privacy Policy takes priority.
Please take a few minutes to read this policy. By visiting or using any part of the Services, you confirm that you've read it and that you understand how we collect, use and share your information as set out here.
What Personal Information We Collect
By "personal information" we mean any information that identifies you or another person, or that could reasonably be tied back to you or to them. It doesn't include information we collect anonymously, or information that has been stripped of identifying details so it can no longer be linked to you or anyone else. Depending on how you use the Services, where you live, and what the law allows or requires, we may collect or process the categories of personal information below, along with any conclusions reasonably drawn from them:
Contact details, such as your name, home, billing and shipping addresses, phone number and email address. Payment information, such as card numbers, bank or account details, the payment method you choose, transaction details and payment confirmations, which our checkout and payment providers handle for us. Account information, such as your username, password, security questions, preferences and settings. Order information, such as the products you look at, add to your cart, buy, return or cancel, and your order history. Messages you send us, such as the details you include when you contact customer support. Device information, such as your device type, browser, network connection, IP address and other unique identifiers. Usage information, such as which pages you visit, what you click, and when and how you move around the Services.
Where We Get Your Information
We may collect personal information from these sources: directly from you, when you place an order, create an account, visit or use the Services, contact us, or share information with us in some other way; automatically, from your device as you use our products, services or website, including through cookies and similar tools; from service providers we hire to run certain technology for us, when they collect or process personal information on our behalf; and from our partners and other third parties, for example when they share information with us to help us understand or reach our customers.
How We Use Your Information
What we use your information for depends on how you interact with us and which parts of the Services you use:
Running and improving the Services. We use your information to run the Services and keep our side of the agreement with you. That includes taking payment, packing and shipping your orders, arranging delivery with carriers, handling refunds and warranty claims, setting up and managing your account, sending you updates about your orders and account, remembering your preferences and the products you've shown interest in, and letting you leave reviews. We may also use it to recommend products that suit what you've already bought, and to shape the Services around what our customers actually use, so the store works better for you each time you visit.
Marketing and advertising. We use your information for marketing, such as sending promotional emails, text messages or mail, and showing you ads for our products on the Services and on other websites and apps. Those ads may be based on what you've bought before, what you've added to your cart, and other things you've done on the Services.
Security and fraud prevention. We use your information to verify your account, keep payments and checkout secure, spot, investigate and act on possible fraud or other illegal, unsafe or harmful activity, protect public safety, and keep our systems and Services secure. If you create an account, it's up to you to keep your login details safe. We strongly suggest you never share your username, password or other access details with anyone, including people who claim to be contacting you on our behalf.
Staying in touch. We use your information to give you customer support, reply to your questions, follow up on orders, refunds and warranty claims, and keep our relationship with you running smoothly.
Legal reasons. We use your information to meet our legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests, including from law enforcement or government agencies, to take part in or look into civil discovery, lawsuits (actual or threatened) or other legal disputes, and to enforce our terms and policies or investigate possible breaches of them.
When We Share Your Information
In some situations we share personal information with third parties for legitimate reasons covered by this policy. These include: with Shopify, and with vendors and other companies that provide services for us, such as IT support, payment processing, data analytics, customer support, email and text messaging, cloud storage, order fulfilment and shipping; with advertising and marketing partners who help us promote our products to you; when you ask us to, or agree to it, for example so a carrier can deliver your order or when you use a social media feature or sign-in option; with companies under common ownership with us; as part of a business deal such as a merger, sale or bankruptcy; and when needed to meet a legal obligation, enforce our terms or policies, or protect the Services, our rights, and the rights of our customers and others.
Our Platform: Shopify
The Services are hosted on Shopify, which collects and processes information about how you access and use the Services so it can run and improve them for you. Shopify and our payment providers also process the payments made at our checkout. Information you submit through the Services is passed to Shopify, and to other service providers who may be based in countries other than the one where you live, so they can provide and improve the Services. Shopify and our payment providers handle that information under their own privacy policies, which explain how they use personal information and what rights you may have with them directly. You can read them on their websites at any time, and we recommend doing so if you'd like the full picture of how your checkout data is handled.
Links to Other Websites
The Services may link to websites or other online platforms run by other companies. If you follow a link to a site we don't own or control, please read that site's own privacy, security and other policies. We can't vouch for, and aren't responsible for, the privacy or security of those sites, or for whether the information on them is accurate, complete or reliable.
Children's Information
The Services aren't designed for or aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information about anyone under the age of majority where they live. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us their personal information, contact us using the details below and ask us to delete it, and we'll do so as quickly as we reasonably can. As of the date this policy took effect, we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of children.
Keeping Your Information Safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no security system is perfect or impossible to break, so we can't promise "perfect security." How long we keep your information depends on why we have it: for example, to run your account, provide the Services, meet legal requirements, settle disputes, or enforce our agreements and policies.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights below over your personal information. These rights have limits, may only apply in certain situations, and in some cases we may turn down a request where the law allows it.
Access. You may be able to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to receive a copy of it. Deletion. You may be able to ask us to delete personal information we keep about you, apart from anything the law requires us to keep. Correction. You may be able to ask us to fix personal information about you that's wrong or out of date, so our records stay accurate. Portability. You may be able to ask for a copy of your personal information and, in some situations and with some exceptions, ask us to send it to another company. Objecting to marketing and targeted ads. Depending on where you live, you may be able to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing or targeted advertising, and to withdraw any consent you gave us (including consent to cookies, which you can manage through our cookie banner where we show one). To do this, contact us at the details below. Email preferences. We may send you promotional emails, and you can stop them at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of those emails. Even after you unsubscribe, we may still email you about your account or your orders.
You can use any of these rights through the Services where we offer it, or by contacting us at the details below. We won't treat you any differently for using them.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we handle your personal information, please contact us at the details below. Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask us to review our response by contacting us again, or take your complaint to your local data protection or privacy regulator.
Transfers Outside Your Country
We may move, store and process your personal information outside the country where you live. If we transfer it out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognised safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the equivalent contracts issued by the relevant UK authority, unless the destination country has been officially found to offer an adequate level of protection. We take these steps so your information keeps a similar level of protection wherever it's processed.
Updates to This Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when our practices change or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we do, we'll post the new version on this website, change the "Last updated" date, and give any notice the law requires.
Contact Us
If you have a question about our privacy practices or this Privacy Policy, or you'd like to use any of the rights described above, please email us at support@hushlea.com.
Text Messages and Mobile Information
We never share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional use. We may share it with subcontractors who help us provide support services, such as customer service. Outside of that, your text message opt-in data and consent are never shared with, or sold to, any third party.
